  About MCinfo

Welcome to Motor Carrier Information Exchange(MCinfo)

In an effort to improve efficiencies by reducing rejection rates and response time, NIC Inc, the recognized leader in eGovernment, developed the Motor Carrier Information Exchange (MCinfo) application. This easy-to-use certificate filing system enables electronic filing of a variety of insurance certificates in multiple states from one easy to navigate website www.mcinfo.org

To help you learn about MCinfo, this section answers some common questions about the system.

» Benefits of MCinfo

One-Stop Filing

Insurance companies and MGAs can file one certificate for a carrier and choose from multiple states where the carrier wishes to operate. MCinfo automatically takes care of the distribution to the respective states.

Faster Turn Around

The average time for an insurance company or MGA to be made aware of the acceptance or rejection of a filing from the state is 24 to 48 hrs.

Robust Reporting

Reports enable a user or state to look at all e-filings done in a day, week, month or any time period specified. Reports may be pulled out into CSV format for easier manipulation.

» What Forms Are Supported?

The following forms are accepted in our 19 electronic states.

  • Form E
  • Form H
  • Form K
  • Form EH
  • BMC-91
  • BMC-91X

  • BMC35

» Can forms Be Filed At The Federal Level?

Currently, this feature is not available through the application. Federal forms required at the state level may be filed electronically through the application.

» How Much Do Filings Cost?

The filing service is provided free of charge to state agencies. Funding comes from a per-filing convenience fee paid by insurance companies of only $3.50 per filing (per state). Important: Remember that per filing equates to one certificate filed with one state. This means that if you filed one certificate with three states, your total cost would be $10.50 ($3.50 X 3)
